Pak Suzuki Announces Price Hike for Suzuki GD110S and GS150 Models

Pak Suzuki Announces Price Hike for Suzuki GD110S and GS150 Models

Pak Suzuki, a major player in Pakistan’s automotive industry, has recently announced a significant price increase for two of its popular motorcycle models, the Suzuki GD110S and Suzuki GS150. Both models have seen a price hike of Rs. 7,000, with the new prices effective from October 15, 2024. This adjustment reflects ongoing market dynamics and increasing production costs.

Revised Suzuki Bike Prices

The updated prices for these models are as follows:

  • Suzuki GD110S: Now priced at Rs. 359,000, up from Rs. 352,000.
  • Suzuki GS150: Now priced at Rs. 389,000, up from Rs. 382,000.

These revised prices include the ex-factory product cost and freight charges. However, it’s important to note that prices may vary based on fluctuations in the market, and the final price at the time of delivery will apply. Additionally, any applicable government taxes will be charged separately to the buyer.

Why the Price Hike?

Although Pak Suzuki has not provided an official explanation for the price increase, several factors likely contribute to the decision:

  • Rising Production Costs: Due to the rising costs of raw materials and production, manufacturers are forced to pass these increases on to consumers.
  • Increased Demand: The GD110S and GS150 are in high demand, which may have influenced the decision to raise prices.
  • Potential Regulatory Changes: Shifting government policies or import duties could also play a role in the price adjustments.

The price increase may impact the affordability of these motorcycles for many consumers, especially in a market where price sensitivity is high.

Suzuki GS150: 0% Markup Installment Offer

In an effort to make the Suzuki GS150 more accessible, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) introduced an installment plan in August 2024. The plan offers buyers the chance to own the GS150 with 0% markup and only a 25% down payment. The installment period spans 24 months, making it easier for customers to purchase their dream bike without immediate financial strain.

This offer provides significant relief for potential buyers, allowing them to spread payments over two years while benefiting from 0% interest. It’s a part of Suzuki’s broader effort to support customers in purchasing both motorcycles and cars through installment plans. For cars, the company offered savings of up to Rs. 425,000 with a flat 17.7% rate.

Impact of the Price Increase on Consumers

While the installment plan is appealing, the price hike may still affect many potential buyers. The increase in both the Suzuki GD110S and GS150 models may limit affordability for some customers, particularly in light of ongoing economic challenges in Pakistan.

What’s Next?

With the new prices now in effect, buyers will need to weigh their options carefully. The installment plan for the GS150 offers a way to mitigate the impact of the price increase, but for those considering the GD110S, the higher cost may present a challenge.
