The State Bank of Pakistan’s Raast digital payment system has surpassed Rs 20 trillion in transactions, marking a significant milestone in digital banking.
A State Bank spokesperson announced on Thursday that the system has facilitated 892 million transactions, amounting to Rs 20 trillion. Notably, the last Rs 1 trillion was transacted in just 16 days, highlighting the growing adoption of the platform.
The spokesperson emphasized that this achievement underscores the State Bank’s dedication to making digital payments more accessible and user-friendly across the country.
In related news, the Banking Ombudsman recently provided over Rs 1 billion in relief to bank customers within the first nine months of this year. A total of 18,836 complaints were resolved, with Rs 1.06 billion being returned to customers during this period.
Bank officials continue to advise customers to remain vigilant against fraud, urging them not to share personal or financial information with anyone. In case of suspicious activity or calls, customers are encouraged to contact their nearest bank branch or the bank’s helpline immediately.
