PM Shehbaz Sends Congratulations to Donald Trump on ‘Historic’ Election Victory

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on Wednesday, celebrating his “historic win” as he secures a second term as the US president.

“I look forward to working closely with the incoming Administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-U.S. partnership,” the Prime Minister stated in a post on X.

His remarks followed Trump’s declaration of victory in the 2024 presidential race, where he triumphed over Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” Trump told a jubilant crowd at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on Wednesday, alongside his vice-presidential candidate, Senator JD Vance, several Republican leaders, and members of his family.

At 78 years old, Trump becomes the oldest president ever elected and would also be the first to win non-consecutive terms in over a century. Notably, he remains the only president to have been impeached twice and the first former president to face criminal conviction.
