Pakistan, Azerbaijan Discuss Regional Security Developments

During an official visit to Azerbaijan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with several high-ranking Azerbaijani officials, including President Ilham Aliyev, Defence Minister Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Aziz Oghlu Bayramov, First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Tofig Oghlu Valiyev, and Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev.

The discussions highlighted the deep and historic ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, addressing shared interests such as the evolving security landscape in the region and ways to strengthen existing defense collaborations.

General Mirza emphasized the significance of further military cooperation between the two nations, reaffirming a mutual commitment to regional peace and stability.

Azerbaijani leaders expressed appreciation for the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging shared perspectives on expanding cooperation and exploring new avenues to deepen ties with Pakistan.
